"Discovered - Currently Not Indexed" | Issue on Multiple Sites

Been a problem for months now, and even on new sites the problem persists...

Very demotivating and I've tried pretty much everything, nothing seems to work. Force indexing, editing the articles, re-submitting sitemap etc.

What should I do? The only thing I'm seeing is that the only site not having this issue is a bit older and has a lot more links (40RD's, other sites have 0-10RD's).

They're not sandboxed sites, all of them get traffic, but way less than they should because of so much non-indexed content...

Did everything I could (manually indexing, internal links, insert YouTube videos, etc.) without any results. Updated content get's crawled and displayed correctly.

That's why I'm currently focussing on updating old content instead of publishing new stuff.

Yes. None are previously punished, nor have they got any organic traffic prior to me buying the domains. I really only buy them to skip sandbox (they're still indexed when I buy them dropped).

Not to contradict the experiences of @Dani at all. There's always the possibility of other issues. But 99% of the time I hear this complaint, it turns out the person has pretty much zero page rank flowing through their sites. They don't have much of anything, if nothing, in the way of dofollow backlinks pointing into their site. Even people with aged domains didn't buy aged & juicy domains.

Is it the case that you're focusing on publishing and not thinking about backlinks and not being able to ride on existing backlink power to the domains?

100%. The sites in question all has pretty much 0 off-page efforts. They do get a bit of traffic though, so Google likes them for sure even in competitive terms they rank top 10.

That's if you want to overcome this issue of publishing content and it not performing because it's not indexed. As the internet expands exponentially, Google isn't indexing everything like they used to. They're having to be selective. And what better way to do it than only index things that they think are of quality and use to people, and the way to measure that is stuff like backlinks, and not content quality.

Back in the day they'd index any old crap, hungrily so. I imagine they still crawl like that, but convincing them to index it is a lot trickier these days.

no, the main domain (.de) is held since around 1999, the others (nl., es., .pl, .it, etc.) followed every few years when the brand enters a new european market.

They don't have much of anything, if nothing, in the way of dofollow backlinks pointing into their site. Even people with aged domains didn't buy aged & juicy domains.

it's the main blog of a big european e-commerce saas and we don't do active link building, just publishing content on a weekly basis (basically as white hat as it gets).

The authority of the domain(s) carried us so much that active link building was never an issue. Plus, a lot of articles get backlinks naturally because of the brand/the blog is a trusted resource.

It's extra weird that 7/9 domains (different ages, different DAs, different authors) from this brand experience the same issues across different markets (nl., es., .pl, .it, etc.) and the only common things are the brand name and cms.

As you can see on the screenshot above the site health is okay according to ahrefs and google has no issue crawling (checked the crawl budget) but it performs quite bad in Google PageSpeed Insights for quite some time now (bloated af). Ruling everything out, that could be the issue – or the missing backlinks.

Woah, that sucks... I'll try get some links in the meantime though, perhaps that helps quicken the process. I still have about 160 articles to publish until the end of the year, if it's resolved by then I'll be happy
