Hello builders!

As the title suggests, I am having a hard time integrating with Ezoic and I thought I'd ask for some advice.

The issue is that Google disapproves my domain from the AdManager platform.

Initially Google raised the issue that the navigation on my website was not good enough. Frankly, on the home page I had some links that were pointing back to the home page, so I fixed those. Reapplied the domain and I got rejected again.

This time around the issue was that my navigation bar was not good enough. Instead of only having a blog page, they wanted me to better categorize my articles in the navigation bar. Which I did by adding my category pages to the menu. As soon as I've done that, they raised another issue:

Now I don't want to blow my own trumpet but my articles are pretty good in quality. I have everything ranging from 8k-word guides to 600-word articles sniping certain long tails. That being said, in the past few days I've only written question type articles around long tail keywords - think something like: can expired food make you sick? (just an example, not an actual article)

I personally found two potential culprits:

1. This batch of question type articles (most of them over 1000 words btw) may be seen as low quality content. Some of them have the same images because it's very difficult to find images for that particular topic

2. You can now reach the review articles on my website straight from the navigation. Maybe Google frawns upon those and for that reason suggests my content is of low value. On one side, my review articles are REALLY helpful but on the other side, as soon as I fixed the "navigation issue" they raised up the low value content issue - which happened as soon as I added the review category to the navigation.

Thoughts?

How old is your site? Low value content seems to be their default answer for sites that are less than ~6 months old.

How much traffic are you getting? Low traffic numbers also seem to result in that rejection reason recently.

Site is a few years old. Slacked big time on it, only recently started adding content regularly.

Around 7-8k monthly sessions and growing month on month.

How many posts are published? You haven’t said, only described the content. Google is saying the core issue is “not enough content” plus they reckon it’s low quality (thin content is usually a veiled way of saying “too much affiliate reviews or trying to turn non-commercial intent posts into commercial ones.) Is any of this describing your posts?

Right now I have 80 posts on the website, out of which 15-20 are affiliate.

None of the informational posts have links pointing to products, let alone affiliate. And in none of them am I suggesting the use of any product in particular. That is why I am getting confused, everything seems fine.

Besides, most posts are guides like "how to train to jump higher" rather than "can your shoes determine your jumping height", with the second post having more room to promote products if I wanted to.

From what you say, doesn't sound like thin content on your articles is the issue here.
I would suggest (if you haven't already):
1. Check out Google Search Console and see if there are any obvious issues there
2. Take a look at webarchive.org and see what the history of the domain is. It could be that a previous owner had it banned by AdSense, and this is their way of giving you the run-around without giving any useful information
3. Make sure that your privacy, cookies, about me page and Home Page itself are of high quality.

1. I don't see any issues in GSC. Fixed everything as soon as an issue popped up.

2. I am the first to have ever had this domain. Even more interesting is that I AM PART OF GOOGLE ADSENSE! With an approved account ready to run ads. Yet they won't approve my domain through Google AdManager... what the hell.

3. Every page is good. My website is custom built by a friend who is a full stack web developer, so it doesn't look like any run of the mill website. Which frustrates me even more. I seem to be doing everything "right", Google even accepted me into AdSense a while back, and now they are being fussy. And when I solve one issue, they come up with another one.

Annoying.

Hey guys, thought I'd bump this.

Even the Ezoic onboarding guy told me my website looks fine and that he is out of suggestions, not knowing what Google wants from me.

Any other thoughts? Much appreciated!

Ditch them lol.
They’re taking up your time and not helping you.

Anyone who was predatory enough to charge noob webmasters for ad inventory doesn’t deserve your business anyway.

I’m on mobile so I’ll be short:
  • Search in the dashboard for cuss words, mentions of death, weapons, and war, health claims where they don’t belong, sex, etc. Remove them all. Keep it family friendly including the niche.
  • Get affiliate content off the homepage and off the categories for now till you get accepted.
  • Get rid of any pop-ups, overs, or unders.
  • Make sure you’re getting at least 100 visits a day (made up number, just have real traffic)
  • Make sure your site is at least 6 months old.
  • Have a solid menu navigation.
  • Have an about, contact, terms, disclaimers, and all the boilerplate pages.
I doubt you’re doing any of that newb stuff. There’s might be something minor somewhere they’re catching when scanning, like bad words.

See, that's the issue. I have none of those problems.

And I know it may sound frustrating to hear that I don't seem to have any of the possible issues you are pointing out. It's like "bro, certainly there is something wrong if Google rejects you" and I totally agree but I really have a hard time figuring out what the issue is.

Anyway, since the onboarding "specialist" literally told me, word for word, that he can't further advise me because he doesn't know what Google wants from me, I decided to delete my Ezoic account.

I will write some more content, push to 50k sessions and hopefully Mediavine will be more willing to help. I've heard good thing about their customer support.

Also, site is in the fitness vertical. I don't have bad words, I avoid YMYL topics, I don't promote any pills or stuff like that, and I back every single claim with legit studies. So yeah, hard to tell what their deal is.
