Google Analytics as Affiliate Tracking System?

I was wondering - is anyone using Google Analytics tracking codes combined with some type of reporting/access to the company you are working with's Analytics as a means to track revenue and calculate commission?

Is this a worth while way of tracking things even as a temporary setup while an official analytics platform gets set up?

Sounds like a bad idea mate. If people have ad blockers and analytic blockers like Disconnect like I do then you would essentially not see them if they convert.

Bad idea. The concept can be done using UTM tracking though.

Thanks guys. Stettled on UTM codes to track. Either that or no deal so had to suck it up.
