Are Google Analytics Stats Wrong?

I just noticed a huge difference in reports between GA and Analytify, installed on my wordpress.

GA says people spent an average of like 40 second on my website. Analytify reports 2min 26 seconds.

How could there be such a difference?

If Analytify does anything more than just pulling Google Analytics data, like trying to improve that data, it might be:

• adding in your own page sessions as the administrator, making them longer
• counting all page sessions, including 1 page per sessions users, where Google considers that a bounce and can't track the time on site.

It also might be caching the analytics rather than pulling it live on each refresh.
