I need 9.

I got this idea, and it's so crazy it might just work...

It's around that time again, where I've got my 6 month itch and want to drop some knowledge or something to help out marketers. So this idea's been developing in my head for a couple of months now, and it's so crazy it might just work.

One thing I will say is, I love writing about marketing, especially during this time of year, cause it's where all the top dogs come out and showcase what they can do to get attention cause it's pretty much the SuperBowl for marketing from now until Valentines day. Any marketer worth their salt knows this is "Go" time, everyone is spending money, and they WANT to spend money during the holidays, even once January comes around, they'll want to lose weight, all through Valentines day, this is the time of year us marketers live for.

I feed off the energy, that's why I usually drop my big posts around this time. But this year, on this new forum, I want to do something radically different.

If anything, it can at least change people's thought pattern of what is possible with online marketing.

I need 9... 9 people that are interested in taking a two-three month plunge with me into the web. It'll involve non-SEO traffic, and one-on-one guidance/mentorship and tons of guided work. You have to have a project you want to perform this "training session" on, and have to be willing to put in the work and give weekly updates on progress.

However, I'm still brainstorming some of the ways we are going to proceed. Basically it's going to be a Live Case Study - Traffic Leak bootcamp - where I'm going to mentor 9 individuals into perfecting their traffic leaking skill for their selected project. I'm talking to the MODs here at BuSo about how we can coordinate this correctly. First thing first - there will NOT be ANY SKYPE help at any level. It's all going to be strictly through this forum in a main thread and private/group PMs, so people can follow along.

What I hope to gain personally out of this is figuring out where people are at with their online marketing, and traffic leak capabilities, and seeing what level I can get them to. The end goal is to re-vamp the traffic leak threads into a master traffic leak website archive, where it will be stored for people to come back to if they are looking to generate non-SEO traffic for their projects. Basically I'm trying to round out the methodology and make sure it encompasses a wide variety of potential marketing funnels which I may have overlooked. The end site will be updated frequently, with even a commenting system, so it'll act as a sort of marketing library, free for all to browse.

People have taken the traffic leak journey alone by themselves, and you've seen their testimonials, - one dude went from 3 SEO visitors a day, for 3 months, then talked to me, and jumped to 800 visitors a day, a week later. Another dude posted about a 3,000 visitor day, after a week and some quick responsive decisions on live events. Over and over, people have come to me stating they've now see the whole internet as a source of potential traffic rather then just search engines. Yes, this way maybe different, but it's real proactive marketing that'll have you at the ground level of your niche - that's scary for some, cause you will be thrown into situations were it can be make it or break it for your brand. But if you have nothing to lose...

I need 9...

I'll continue brainstorming and be back with more details. If anyone has questions or comments/suggestions, feel free to leave them here. I'm going to use this thread as a brainstorming post board.

This is a crazy appealing concept. No matter what I'm eager to see the results. Don't know if I can dedicate enough time to be worthy of the 9 though!! Fuuuuuck. The allure is strong. I'd pretty much read CCarter all day.

I really don't know if I can qualify for this case study because of my poor experience in the field. What I know is that I'm willing to work my ass off to make it happen. Already had a project in mind that I was going to start, if I have the opportunity I would love to use it in this. I know that having not only a mentor but a whole community to my side will make me want to work even harder. This could be the push i need.

I would absolutely love to be in on this with you CCarter. I've got a project in the wings that needs launching as well.

I'm not sure why you picked the number 9 but it makes me feel a bit like a Nazgul in the making

@CCarter,

You know I'm in! Really dig the idea. Would be interesting to see how this plays out. You know I would follow through on it

Throws hat in the ring.

I have the SEO traffic. My sites and I are hopelessly addicted to it. I have one site in mind that I see potential leaks for, all over the place. Just this morning I scoured the top 100 results for my best performing keyword and bookmarked all the sites that I knew I could get traffic from. Or at least believed I could.

I'm ready for the next step. Whether I'm 1 of 9 or not I'm moving on this. But any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Why 9? Lucky Number?

Anyways, count me in. I'm ready to learn.

Awesome guys, I'm really glad you guys want in on this and my instinct was right about doing something like this.

Right now we're at Zero - 0 out of 9 have been selected.

First of all, I love you all - but let's slow down a bit with the skype messages. Metadata and I are talking over the process, cause one thing we also want to do is flex our marketing muscle with this thread - traffic leaking the traffic leak case study - wat...

But also we want to make sure it's in an organized fashion, and most importantly we are hitting different types of websites along with different niches. So we are looking to not just traffic leak some CPA blog style website for more sales, we want to flex the marketing brains of everyone involved and our own. So it's very important we get a variety of projects.

So what we got so far, there is going to be a main thread, where I'll be commenting on most of the discussions and group effort with the CC9, and then each individual will also create their own thread, were they'll update their project and people can view the progress of their project, without getting confused, etc. The main thread will be updated like the "Goals for October" thread is updated, but with a bit more strict schedule. Anyone can ask questions in the main thread or the individual threads, and anyone can answer - I'll be there of course to come in and expand upon the answers, answer unknown questions, and guide the CC9 from a macro level, but also a personalized level for their domain in group PM. I'm still not sure at what level I want the group PMs to be at - engagement wise, but the main topics we discuss will be updated through the main thread.

There is going to be actual serious marketing work. I plan on mind-fucking your thought process and shattering what you deem as marketing - since most of you believe there is only one way of generating traffic. We're going to start with the root foundation of what is marketing, and identify your true customer base, and figure out how you are going to engage them and tailor the message towards them correctly.

Think of it like this, most of you know me from Wickedfire, I tailor my message differently then when I post on a blackhat forum, or a newbie forum, or a blog - the reason, the audience is at a different stage in their minds. So like a lion I stalk my prey, figure out where they sleep, eat, shit, and have fun at.

I figure out why they like what they like, what they don't like. What's acceptable, what's not acceptable on the platform, then I slowly integrate myself into the environment, and mind-fuck them so hard, they'll come looking for me.

I was talking to this one dude I mentor about a site he's build and we were talking about overall structure and reasoning of why he creates the content he does. His statement was cause of search volume, that's why he creates his content. But the problem was the content he was creating wasn't buying, they were just searching for an answer - not looking to buy a "somewhat" related product.

Most people are trying to attack SEO and marketing as if the buying process is a secondary goal - so they treat it as a secondary goal - "hopefully someone will click on the ads". No motherfucker, if your goal is to get people to click on the fucking ads, put them in places where people mostly click... "but, but Google, above the fold, bla bla bla" - You see the problem. SEO has warped people's minds into considering Google's profit margin above their own.

Now imagine, if you had a traffic source that you could tap by pressing a button, and you wouldn't be restricted to Google's arbitrary rules of how your site should look, feel, and be designed. You can create nothing but above the fold ads all day, and not give a second thought. You ever seen some of these thumbnail porn galleries. Completely misleading 80% of the time, you don't know if you are clicking an advertisement, or clicking on an image which will take you through a circlejerk of more pictures, and more pictures, but not the picture or video you want. They can get away with that cause they have no Google rules to play by. Does their brand get hurt, these galleries don't give 2 shits, cause people are always going to be searching for porn. They don't care, they're after the click.

Now obviously if you are building a brand, you don't want to give absolutely "zero" fucks about your visitors, you'll want to engage them so they continue coming back, and continue buying if you've got an ecommerce store. So we're going to take the SEO chains off, and you'll be able to do whatever you want - but obviously we're going to have some structure of how the end website should be cleaned up to maximize your revenue, and audience capturing for future marketing efforts, so there will be an onsite crash course as well. Things of that nature will be in the main thread.

And if you don't get in the official 9, you can still follow along, and we'll still help you, you can be a Ronin.

So just to clarify, right now the number of accepted is at zero. We're going to be PMing individuals and asking questions about their project(s) and checking off the different types of websites we want to target for this experiment.

Time to take this to the next level...

This sounds cool CCarter. I'm starting a few projects right now so why not to make one of them under CC9 umbrella? I'm ready.

This sounds real good man! Would be good to add 1 of my projects to the CC9! Hopefully will get your chance to pick your brain on this niche which is p***ing me off! :D

Carter doesn't know about this yet, but each of the CC9 who make it through the gauntlet and hold up their commitments will be awarded with [announcement coming soon.] from BuSo, valued at roughly $25 to $Priceless. That's not to diminish the value you're getting simply by participating in this and having CCarter at arm's reach and personally invested in your success... priceless doesn't even begin to describe the value of that.

I'm completely confident that this boot camp is going to result in 9 successful, profitable and sustainable online assets and that shit's exciting as hell.

If you aren't one of the 9 that are chosen, don't worry... You'll be able to follow along just the same, and apply all of the same practices and techniques to your own projects in real-time.

I have a large variety of projects on my back burner which I am very motivated to get going so if you are looking for variety I am sure I can contribute a suitable project. Aside from juming up and down yelling 'pick me!' that's about all I can put in at this point.

:D
