I am reading the book Mastery by Robert Greene. I just read a section on how the journey to master takes some number of years and starts in an observational mode where you learn the ropes by learning the rules more or less.
I have experienced this in another field and now after 5 years full time there I feel like I have reached a master level, or somewhere close to it. My mistake was that I followed my passion only and that skill ties my income to my time and thus it will never be something I fully pursue. Lesson learned.
So now as a beginner in the field of marketing, what better way to get inspiration and guidance than to hear the stories or timelines of how now successful Internet marketers made their way to where they are now. For me it is great to see the end goal, the inspire a newbie thread does a great job at that, but I think hearing the stories and looking at someone else's map to success will be inspiring from another angle.
