When I get the equivalent of a $1500 day, then I'm probably gonna think I made it.
What about you?

I've had a few. Sitting in a restaurant in a foreign country, eating dinner with friends I've known for years, watching the Superbowl without worrying about the bill or what time I had to work the next two days was one of them.

But, you never really make it. Every time I've gotten what I wanted, it hasn't been what I expected. Tis the life of the explorer, the conqueror, the insatiable appetite for growth.

Not a moment, but more of a retrospect when you look back over the last few years and realize that your life is pretty good.

Actually, I guess the first "damn this IM thing works" was when I was working overtime at my day job for a full week abroad, making decent money on that by itself, and then receiving 15k from Clickbank the same month ... Suddenly I had more money than I've ever had just sitting in my checking account. It was just after I left university.

It's a short-lived feeling though, like winning in an online competition or something. It doesn't feel motivating in the same sense as building a business, because you realize there's a big portion of luck and you can't necessarily replicate it or scale it.

But the big picture:
- Bought a new flat before I'm 30, for me, it's a big deal as you need to have 100k down here to get a mortgage even, and for many owning their own home is the definite "made it" moment. I know in the US you can buy a house with much less down, but that's how it is here.

- Days like today, wake up, check some stats, go to the farmers market and pick up some things and cook a nice breakfast for my wife ... It's a nice feeling of freedom. Checking back later and at about 2k rev for the day. Doing some calls and planning more strategy later in the day.

- Not having to worry about bills so much (there's always bad months too), but overall my life is less worrying than working a 9-5. Those bad months are the payment of living a free and happy life.

- Have time to work out, take a walk, spend 15 minutes talking to someone I run into, and can eat healthy good food. Can stay up late or get up early, only motivated by my own goals for the day.

- Feeling like I'm using my brain, taking ownership, constantly learning new things and challenging myself. Our industry is very good for constantly developing yourself and your mind, things change and you need to hustle -- which is how we're made to work, and not go to an office and do just enough to get paid, and don't piss off the wrong people and get fired.

Yeah this is definitely that kind of "life is good" moment.

Great thread!

My moment was when I walking around the neighborhood, stumbled upon a building under construction, called the investor on a Sunday, and bought the 120m2 apartment with cash two days after. That was the moment when my family and I moved from renting to owning after 10 years. Still feels good to think about that

When i sold my first website.

I sold it to a guy who owned Zimbra... we shook hands on the San Francisco bridge after a cash biz deal.

That guy is now part owner of Instacart.

Jut by having such an acquaintence, i knew I too was importance because not many people will ever shake hands and do business with such an established person.. ever....... much less become a trusted associate.

I never asked for nothing either... Just always had exceptional ideas and he saw that in me. And I ALWAYS believed that about myself.
