It feels like the whole situation was a ploy to cripple the world economy and stunt the rise of populism and rejection of globalism.

We're not even touching on the drug use in broad daylight... What are you guys doing over there?

You guys heard about this stuff?
It's supposedly being used/practiced in South Africa ... and will be some crazy shit where the government can do things like 'predictive policing'

This is some interesting stuff.
I had Covid in Dec this year, I was actually sick for a solid month. My wife got it, drove her to the hospital when she was struggling to breathe in the kitchen. I've had bad adult flus but they usually only knock me down for 2-3 days. I was shocked at the long duration of Covid in me, I normally go years at work without taking sick days, at worst I get a runny nose every year or two. The thing with covid is probably 90% get it mild or asymptomatic, 10% get it bad, 2% get it hospitalization bad, 0.5% get it fatal.
The standard covid advice was go seek medical help if you are struggling with shortness of breath, this can be potentially fatal and nobody wants to end up in the ICU. But the real life covid ward doctors at the hospital ran chest xrays, listened to the chest and sent her home saying its just part of Covid, it sucks but she's not going to die so just deal with limited breathing. It absolutely affected my breathing too. I'm better now, but struggling to breathe for a month was not the same as the flu.
We mass vaccinated in Canada and I'm in Alberta and it's Canada Day and we're more or less free now. All restrictions removed, only like 60 cases yesterday or something (down from like 2000 a day about 1.5 months ago). Vaccines obviously work, but believe whatever you want. I work in construction with a bunch of 20-30 something conspiracy bros. None of them will get it either, somehow I was just the unlucky one to get it bad and I knew it was no joke from the start, but I got it and the idiots chinbagging masks got off scott free (most of them). And since everyone else did the work of achieving 70% first dose vaxx rate we get to open back up again and listen to them say "I told you so"

That lady is going to be me in another 2 months at this rate and I don't even have a reason for wanting the lockdown(s) to end. The constant thought process of "how are we going to get screwed next week" is what's exhausting. It's been an interesting 18th+ months but at what point do we start checking people into mental institutes?
I don't care which side of the argument you are on, vax or anti-vax, red or blue, conservative or liberal, republican or democrat - we're seeing an INCREASE of "unusual activity" that can be classified as mental illness or some sort of mental breakdown. Perhaps it's been caused by lockdown, I think it's more likely the media on both sides.
I can't imagine the conversations in 18 more months of where we will be at, but I think this sums up where we are heading:

Why not turn off the TV and media if it's exhausting? No one can make you anxiety or fearful, that's what you do as a reaction. Disassociate with anyone that talks nonsense - left or right. Just focus on your goals. The constant thought process of "how are we going to get screwed next week" is what's exhausting.
100 years ago they would have been hardcore christians, but today it doesn't exist. Their desire for submission and moral righteousness hasn't gone away.
Mental health is just getting so messed up by our modern world.
The other day I was listening to something from a few years ago talk about the invention of the ATM. The general theme was how we as humans biologically need to be around other humans for our happiness and mental health. But we are building a world to be the opposite of that because that's what we *think* we want, ie the ATM.

The way I see it, and this has been my pet internet genius theory for several years.
What we're seeing is religious projection.
It's what I call the human religious instinct.
These people, these mask wearers, but also some of the progressives, they're puritan religious people.
They have that religious instinct, it burns strong.

You're seeing insane people, I'm seeing Westboro Baptist Church.
I'm bullish on tax havens for this reason. Or 'low tax countries that aren't technically tax havens'. The socialists are out in full force right now. Watch Australia, Canada, NZ and of course most of the Eurozone. Basic income for all, the door has been opened by Covid. Why does this author sound like they want MORE taxes? What in the world can you gain by increasing takes above 34% for income, meanwhile you are competition with 3rd world countries for jobs and businesses.
