So they are confirming what i suggested.

Melanated countries are being less effected. Most of the cases in them are of people from Europe, lacking melanin. Those maps do not lie.

It's supposedly the high heat and humidity that make it hard for the disease to thrive . If your'e somewhere, where the temp's cooler/cold..... be vigilant

A rather sober thought but in the medium term, all this will effect a large transfer of wealth from the older generation to mostly middle age people I guess.

So industries that service that generation will take a hit including care homes, the booming tech industry for the elderly, sectors of medicine etc.

If you were forward thinking, there may be sectors targeting the cohorts that will financial benefit from all this, that could be investigated.

I'm probably going to hell for this thinking along these lines.

You have to increase the trolling-scaremongering level. You need more grandiose in your speech. I dunno use big red letters and crazy photos as well. We need this stock market to drop even lower so we can pick up assets on the cheap! Come on dude, I'm counting on you!

Just had cases strike some people visiting from Italy, near me.. It's no joke. People dropped like flies................. I've seen several diseases pass in the Caribbean before. This is NOT normal at all. Take it as a joke if you want. I've seen some ugly stuff but never seen people get rapidly ill like this, ever.

I was around for Malaria, Chikinguya, Zika, and tons of flus... But the speed of which people are visibly hit by this, seems to mimic poisoning.

But i still think a cure has to be out here. Especially considering this is now in Europe and the US more than most of the world. if there's not a cure.. this might be Divine Intervention

Only this case is reported so far, but there's more.

It's a joke to me they act as if you can 'quickly 'enough' quarantine' somebody who's been going around on vacation.. enjoying themself. Going to know if my theory is right soon enough.

Crazy part, my stomach's getting a bit crazy... Kicking out everything.. but 99% sure this is from the fruits i ate too much of.

If deaths were capped at five a day, I'd agree with you, but that's not how viral outbreaks work.

The outbreak has only just begun. It will continue to spread, discretely, until thousands of people are infected. And if harsh measures aren't taken, as they were in China (city lockdowns and physically-enforced, inescapable quarantines), it will continue to spread even further, until millions of people are infected.

Remember: there is no vaccine, and there's zero indication government is able to contain this virus. It's too contagious, and stays hidden too long, leaving people completely unaware they're spreading it.

The fatality rate is currently estimated to be between 1-4% -- that's 10-40x the fatality rate of the flu (0.1%). That's bad enough, but the real nightmare begins once hospitals become overloaded. When the number of sick outnumbers the available care (workers, beds, ventilators, etc.), the fatality rate is going to skyrocket -- probably 10%+. Nearly all critical cases will lead to death.

The above is just the direct ramifications of this outbreak. There will be much collateral damage . . .
  • If hospitals are overloaded, it's going to effect all medical issues, not just coronavirus infections. The mortality rate for everything goes up.
  • The supply chain is going to severely damaged. Businesses will suffer. Workers will suffer. Economies will suffer.
  • There will be a worldwide shortage of necessities. Food, medicine, hygiene products, etc.
And this is assuming coronavirus is a one-off; that you get infected, wait for a resolution (death or recovery), and that's the end of it. There are reports of people testing positive, seemingly recovering, and then testing positive again. Either the virus is lying dormant before reappearing (think herpes), or re-infection is possible. If the latter is the case, and each reinfection further weakens the infected, then the potential of this situation goes from a Spanish Flu-like death toll in the millions, to an APOCALYPTIC death toll in the billions.

This is truly The Year Of The Living Nightmare.

He's predicting up to 70% infected, with a 1% death rate.
  • The world population is around 7,800,000,000 people
  • 70% of 7,800,000,000 is 5,460,000,000 infections
  • 1% of 5,460,000,000 infections is 54,600,000 deaths
That puts the death toll on par with the Spanish Flu, albeit at a much lower percentage of the world population (the world population in 1920 was around 1.8 billion).

70% of the world becoming infected seems plausible given how uncontainable the virus is, but that 1% death rate seems optimistic. It's likely higher than that right now, before the overload sets in. There are currently 91,347 known infections, and 3,120 known deaths, which is 3.4%. If we limit it to closed cases, it goes up to 6.5% (48,284 recoveries, and 3,120 deaths).

Then there's still the issue of whether it's a one-off, or if it keeps returning, like Jason Vorhees, weakening the victim until it eventually kills them.

The first wave gets nana and papaw . . .

However SARS had a death rate of 10%, and MERS had a death rate of 35%.

COVID-19 with it’s 2.3% has some catching up to do...

Lightning death rates are at 10-30% yearly.

Car death rates are 1.42%, so it’s beating that so far statistically- but in terms of numbers, still a baby.

What about the BOSS Ebola? death rate of 90%.

Facts - they suck the fun out of everything.

The real tragedy is this is the final breath of the death spiral of Mainstream Media. When this goes away by summer time no one will ever again believe them. Maybe not, people that want to be scared of something will find a way to panic.
 
SARS and MERS were contained, so even though they both had higher fatality rates than this coronavirus, there were (relatively) few infections (3,500 for SARS, and 135 for MERS), and so they killed far fewer people. A virus can only kill those it infects, after all.

The flu isn't contained, but it has a low fatality rate (0.1%), so its annual damage is capped (relatively) low.

The issue with this coronavirus is that it's even more infectious than the flu, yet with a fatality rate 10-40x higher. That's why we're seeing travel bans, cities in lockdown, and public events being canceled. Does that not throw up big red flags that this is more than a flu?

We have something which is killing 1 in 25 people who catch it. That's not such a big deal when you're dealing with a handful of infections, but when you're looking at potentially billions of infections, the death toll becomes enormous -- potentially nine figures. And then there's all the indirect issues to come along and kick us when we're down.

Fun times.

When it comes to possible global epidemics, I'd rather we overreact. Are most people going to live through this? Yes. There will also be pain and suffering to those that are affected by this. I think some empathy towards others less fortunate than yourself can go a long way.

This is Mainstream media at it's fines. It's always the "End of Days" with them - but when you put things into perspective you realize that 98% of life on earth is fine. Obama isn't coming to take their guns or put everyone in FEMA Death Camps.

They aren't going to ever report "It's a sunny day, nothing to see here..." It's always going to be an extreme to keep you glued to the TV set and making them more AD dollars. There will NEVER be a moment in MSM where "Chaos isn't upon us!"

Wait - less then 2 months ago it was "World War 3 with Iran" - Iran... seriously? World War 3? seriously?

It all comes down to making money. You on the sites looking at coronavirus stats brings in AD dollars through CPV and potentially CPC ad revenue. It's been like that for a long time.

I recommend you go stock up on Vit-C in large doses.

The mainstream media accused some local person here of being a quack because she recommended Vit-C, then just a day later, Daily Mail (yes!) came out with a story of the chinese using Vit-C intravenously to treat the virus:

The effect of vit-c megadose on flu is well documented and statistically significant, if only marginally effective (average of 0.5-1.5 day reduction). However, intravenous vit-c of up to 20-30grams a day is something else entirely.

I talked with a nice sales girl in the natural supplement store about it. Apparantly you can avoid the Vit-C diareha by dosing during the day. So you can go up to 10-15 grams a day orally if you dose it every 45 minutes!

In any case, I try to get 10 grams a day by dosing 3+3+3 grams a day. I do recommend every do this to give a little extra boost.
 
Well. The italian guy is quarantined. THe 2 nurses who were on staff, at the resort, to treat him.. got quarantined today.

It was already being said around the community however that the women were sick, before the news broke .

Feeling 'daring' today i rode a bus out of the tourist area to the city.. all was good on the way there.. but then on the way back.. the manager of the resort, an italian guy gets on and sits just in front of me. Everyone's eyes are big and looking like "oh shit" LOL

So I just break the ice. I ask the guy, what actually happened. Oh the "pot of shit" starts flying. I think he's some sort of resort manager. He lies, denies it even real. Says it was a false alarm.

WHOA! There's news all over and videos of the guy being taken away. Lol. So anyhow, as a little time goes, the guy starts coughing and he's sweating heavily. So i, ever so 'not giving a fuckly' lean my head towards the window for fresh air.

A few stops later, a kid who works at a iTalian pizza spot I just ate at hops on. We talk and he confirms it happened. He work down the streets from the resort.

I Get home, read the news, it's confirmed that the Domincian women who were locals (and worked aas nurses at the resort) were quarantined by the government. It's all over Google news.

Crazy to me this guy's even lying and the way he was coughing and sweating, def needs to get himself checked out

I dunno man, the federal government in my country (Canada) is letting people stroll off flights from China, Iran, etc. without going into quarantine or anything. Of course, the federal Liberal government is known here for being incredibly brain-dead, but isn't this beyond brain-dead? I'm just wondering, if it were as catastrophic as we're led to believe, I would imagine even a monkey would know that letting people walk around freely off the plane after visiting these countries is a terrible idea.

Im not too worried becaue i'm in peak fitness and never been supsetible to such diesease in the past. Doctor's can't explain my recovery times to things in the past. But, if i should die.. just know 95% of this forum's going with me, with ease. LOL

Hope you've been doing positive things with all that money :smile:

I'm senistive to my body's changes and have allergic reactions but I'm strong against disease. Something like this, will probably just make my immune system more savage.
